Description
Lionville, Pennsylvania, February 21, 2020: Unassuming English shoe salesman Harry Witherspoon (Peter Phillips) is thrown into a chaotic escapade when he learns that he has inherited $6,000,000 from Anthony Hendon, an American uncle he never met (Nate Beaver). With one unusual stipulation: he must take his uncle’s corpse on the adventure of a lifetime or the money goes to the dogs. Literally. To the Universal Dog Home in Brooklyn. From the Tony Award-winning team of Lynne Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (the brains behind Ragtime, Once on this Island, and Anastasia) comes this zany murder mystery musical farce.
In addition to Phillips and Beaver, the featured cast of Lucky Stiff includes Hannah Cohen (Annabel Glick, dedicated dog activist), Mike Harris (flashy tour guide Luigi Gaudi), Bonnie Schuman (embezzler and accidental murderer Rita LaPorta), and Anthony Marsala (optometrist Vinnie DiRuzzio, who is also Rita’s put-upon brother).
Rounding out the cast and playing TWENTY-SIX different characters among them (including a nun and a dancing roulette wheel) are Kyle Chiavetta, Emily Diskin, Steph Kupski, Matt Snyder, and Tali Trofa.
Director and co-Set Designer Allie Beaver had a ball performing in Lucky Stiff years ago in college, and hasn’t been able to get the show out of her head since! It’s pure fun from start to finish and is a real audience pleaser.
Helping the director navigate this maze of mayhem are Producer Lindsay Franklin, Musical Director Doug Pratt, Set and Lighting Designer Wayne Grinwis, and Sound Designer Kevin Robinson.
This is a show that is not produced very often, so don’t miss your chance to follow Harry, the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn, a near-sighted and jilted mistress, a corpse in disguise, and many other zany characters to Monte Carlo!
